Kiveton Miners Welfare FC is delighted to officially announce Saqr AlKhobani as the club’s new First Team Manager. Saqr joins the Miners from Athersley Rec, where he worked closely with the reserves and Under-21 side, playing a pivotal role in the development of young talent.
Saqr brings a wealth of experience, having previously worked with our club chairman during his time as First Team Manager at Sheffield Town FC in 2022, as well as with their Under-21s in 2021. His strong leadership and proven track record in nurturing players will be a great asset to the club.
Although formally announced today, Saqr was appointed as Manager on Sunday, 29th September, and led the team in his first match during our recent cup fixture—a thrilling 4-4 comeback that, despite our best efforts, ended in a 6-5 loss on penalties.
Joining Saqr in his new role are Assistant Manager Yehia Asad and Coach Saleh Saleh. We extend a warm welcome to all three and look forward to the positive impact they will have on the team moving forward.
